SellerIQ Privacy Policy

Effective date: 11 September 2026

Last updated: 11 September 2026

SellerIQ ("SellerIQ," "we," "us," or "our") provides a business intelligence and seller research platform that helps authorized users discover, research, qualify, organize, and manage potential sellers.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and otherwise process personal information in connection with the SellerIQ website, application, database, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Who We Are

SellerIQ is operated by:

Legal entity: Leipold & Hatellari GbR
Registered address: Weidenstraße 8a, 53859 Niederkassel, Germany
Country: Germany
Privacy contact: leipoldsamy@gmail.com, hatellario@gmail.com
Data Protection Officer: not currently appointed, given the size and nature of our processing activities.

Leipold & Hatellari GbR acts as the controller of personal information where it determines the purposes and means of processing. Where SellerIQ processes information on behalf of a business customer (e.g. an organization's internal comments or pipeline entries), that customer acts as controller and SellerIQ acts as processor.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information About SellerIQ Users

When you use SellerIQ, we process your name, email address, organization, and role, as assigned by your organization's administrator (access is by invitation/whitelist only, no open signup). We also process usage information: login/session activity, seller profiles viewed, searches performed, sellers added to a pipeline, pipeline status changes, comments created, AI feature interactions, session duration and active time, and technical logs (IP address, browser/device information).

2.2 Information About Sellers in the SellerIQ Database

SellerIQ collects business-related information about commercial sellers from publicly accessible marketplace sources. This may include a seller's business/trading name, registration numbers (e.g. VAT, KvK), business address, publicly listed contact details, website, marketplace profile, product/category data, ratings, and other publicly visible commercial information.

2.3 Publicly Available Sources

This information originates from public marketplace listings (currently bol.com, eBay.it, and Kaufland.it) and other publicly accessible sources. We process such information in accordance with applicable legal requirements, even though it is publicly accessible.

2.4 Information Added by SellerIQ Users

Authorized users may add comments, notes, and pipeline entries relating to sellers. This content is associated with the relevant SellerIQ account and organization, and is visible only within that organization.

3. AI Features

SellerIQ includes two AI-assisted features: a seller-specific Q&A assistant and a natural-language search bar. When used, we process your prompt, relevant seller information, and (for the Q&A assistant) may perform a supplementary web search via a third-party search API (Exa.ai) using the seller's name/website/country to find current public information.

These features run through Lovable's AI Gateway, which routes requests to Google's Gemini model to generate a response. We have disabled Lovable's data-training option, so content processed through SellerIQ is not used to train Lovable's models. Prompts are still forwarded to Google (as the underlying model provider) and, where triggered, to Exa.ai, for the sole purpose of generating your response, under those providers' own applicable terms.

AI-generated outputs may be incomplete or inaccurate and should be independently verified before being relied on for business decisions.

4. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to: provide and operate SellerIQ; authenticate users and manage accounts; maintain and improve the seller database; enable seller discovery, research, commenting, and pipeline functionality; provide AI-assisted research features; understand feature adoption and usage; maintain security and detect misuse; troubleshoot technical issues; communicate with users; and comply with legal obligations.

5. Product Usage Analytics

We measure how individual users interact with SellerIQ, including active days, session frequency and duration, seller profiles viewed, comments created, AI interactions, and pipeline activity. This is used to provide administrators with adoption/usage reporting, improve the Service, and maintain security. Administrators of your organization can view usage information for users within that organization.

6. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)

We process personal information where necessary to perform our contract with your organization, to comply with a legal obligation, or where necessary for our (or a third party's) legitimate interests — including operating and securing the Service, supporting our business customers, and improving SellerIQ — provided those interests are not overridden by your rights. Where consent is legally required (e.g. for non-essential cookies), we rely on consent.

7. Seller Research and Profiling

SellerIQ organizes and summarizes publicly available information to help users evaluate potential sellers. This does not involve automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects — SellerIQ is a research tool, and users remain responsible for their own decisions.

8. How We Share Information

We share information with service providers who support the Service:

  • Supabase / AWS — database hosting and authentication
  • Lovable — application hosting and AI Gateway
  • Google (Gemini) — AI response generation, via Lovable's AI Gateway
  • Exa.ai — supplementary web search for the seller Q&A feature

Information you or your organization add (comments, pipeline entries) is visible to other authorized users within your organization. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect the rights and security of SellerIQ or others, or in connection with a corporate transaction.

9. Data Accuracy

Much of SellerIQ's seller data originates from public marketplace listings, which may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. We take reasonable steps to keep this information current but cannot guarantee it is always accurate.

10. Data Retention

  • Account data: retained while your organization's access remains active; deleted within 30 days of removal from the whitelist, except where longer retention is required by law.
  • Usage analytics: retained for 24 months on a rolling basis.
  • Comments and pipeline entries: retained while your organization's use of SellerIQ is active; deleted within 90 days of that use ending, unless a legal obligation requires otherwise.
  • Seller database information: retained for as long as needed to operate the Service, subject to correction/removal requests (Section 12).

11. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If GDPR applies to you, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information; object to processing based on legitimate interests; request portability; withdraw consent where applicable; and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Germany, the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, or your local authority.

12. Requests to Access, Correct, or Remove a Seller Profile

If information about you or your business appears in SellerIQ's seller database, contact us at leipoldsamy@gmail.com or hatellario@gmail.com with enough detail to locate the relevant profile (e.g. company name and marketplace). We may retain a limited suppression record after a removal request to avoid the information being re-collected from public sources later.

13. International Data Transfers

SellerIQ's database is currently hosted on Supabase/AWS infrastructure located in the United States. Where personal information originating in the EU/EEA is processed outside the EU/EEA — including by AWS, Lovable, Google, or Exa.ai — we rely on the safeguards provided in those providers' data processing agreements (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

14. Cookies and Similar Technologies

SellerIQ uses essential cookies/local storage to authenticate users and maintain your session. We do not currently use non-essential or advertising cookies. If this changes, we will request consent as required by law.

15. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including access controls, authentication, and infrastructure security — to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

16. Children's Privacy

SellerIQ is a business-to-business service not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

17. Third-Party Websites and Sources

SellerIQ may link to third-party marketplaces or websites (e.g. bol.com, eBay.it, Kaufland.it). We do not control their privacy practices, which are governed by their own policies.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
